Pi Beta Phi Announces Chief Executive Officer Transition
Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women has announced the transition of its chief staff leadership role from Executive Director to Chief Executive Officer (CEO), following approval from Grand Council. Current Executive Director Shawn Eagleburger has been appointed by Grand Council to serve as CEO, effective July 1, 2026. Shawn will continue to lead both the Fraternity and Pi Beta Phi Fraternity Housing Corporation.
The transition reflects how the role has grown alongside Pi Beta Phi and the responsibility of leading an organization of more than 350,000 initiated members across North America.
“Pi Beta Phi continues to grow and evolve, and the role of our chief staff leader has grown with it,” said Grand President Jenn Plagman-Galvin. “Grand Council has a responsibility to ensure Pi Phi is positioned for long-term success, and this transition is a thoughtful step in preparing our organization for the future. Shawn understands both where Pi Phi has been and where we’re going, and we’re grateful for his leadership, his care for our sisterhood and his commitment to Pi Phi’s mission.”
Shawn has served as Pi Beta Phi’s Executive Director since 2021 and has been a member of the Headquarters staff since 2009. During his tenure, he has helped guide Pi Phi through significant growth and change, working alongside volunteer leaders and Headquarters staff to strengthen the member experience and move the Fraternity forward.
“It is an incredible privilege to serve Pi Beta Phi,” Eagleburger said. “I’m grateful for the trust Grand Council and the FHC Board have placed in me and proud of what our volunteers and staff make possible every day in partnership. I look forward to continuing our work to help Pi Phi grow, evolve and create meaningful experiences for our members.”
The transition also aligns with the Headquarters leadership structure implemented earlier this year. Pi Beta Phi’s executive leadership team now includes a Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief People Officer, Chief Collegiate Experience Officer and Chief of Staff, reflecting the growing scope and responsibilities of the Headquarters team.
While this transition reflects the evolution of the chief staff leadership role, it does not change Pi Beta Phi’s governance structure. Grand Council remains the Fraternity’s governing body, setting the strategic direction and working in partnership with the CEO and Headquarters staff to advance Pi Phi’s mission.
