Young Alumnae Giving Circle

A new way for young alumnae to give back to Pi Phi together and have a voice in what their gifts support.

Join the Giving Circle

Something new is beginning for Pi Phi’s young alumnae.

The Young Alumnae Giving Circle is a community of young alumnae and recent graduates who give back to Pi Phi together and decide which leadership development programs their collective gifts support, making an impact for the Pi Phis who come next.

Members can join the Young Alumnae Giving Circle with a monthly gift starting at $10 or a one-time annual gift starting at $120. Along the way, quarterly virtual meetups give Giving Circle members a chance to get to know one another and form new connections.

Become a Founding Member

Founding Member bracelet with angel wing charm

The Young Alumnae Giving Circle is just getting started, and its first members will play a key role in shaping what it becomes. The first 200 alumnae who join will be recognized as founding members of the Young Alumnae Giving Circle.

As our thank-you, each founding member will receive a specially designed bracelet with an angel wing charm, made only for this group.

Where Your Gift Goes

Every Young Alumnae Giving Circle gift is divided equally between two Pi Beta Phi Foundation funds. The Friendship Fund provides flexible support that helps make scholarships, assistance for sisters in need and other programs possible, while the Leadership Fund supports leadership development experiences such as Ignite, College Weekend and Critical Conversations.

Your Voice, Your Vote

Each spring, eligible Giving Circle members vote on which areas of Leadership Fund programming their gifts will support. Members who have contributed at least $120 by the end of the fiscal year and paid their alumnae dues can participate.

Coming up

Members will cast their first votes on May 11, 2027!

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can join?

The Young Alumnae Giving Circle welcomes Pi Phi young alumnae and recent graduates. You can join with a recurring monthly gift of $10 or more or a one-time annual gift of $120 or more. To participate in the annual vote, members must have contributed at least $120 during the fiscal year and paid their alumnae dues.

What can I expect from the Giving Circle?

Members of the Giving Circle can look forward to:

  • A vote each spring on which areas of Leadership Fund programming their gifts support
  • Quarterly virtual meetups with other young alumnae
  • Updates on how the Giving Circle’s gifts are making an impact
  • Special recognition and an exclusive gift for founding members

What is the Friendship Fund?

The Friendship Fund cares for our sisterhood, now and in the years ahead, by providing flexible support for the programs and everyday work that sustain Pi Beta Phi. Gifts to the Friendship Fund help the Foundation fund efforts such as emergency financial assistance for sisters facing unexpected hardship, scholarships that help collegians and alumnae pursue their academic goals and literacy initiatives that inspire readers and expand access to books in local communities.

As an unrestricted fund, the Friendship Fund gives Pi Beta Phi Foundation the flexibility to direct resources where they’re needed most. This is why it remains the Foundation’s area of greatest need.

What is the Leadership Fund?

The Leadership Fund supports the programs and experiences that help Pi Phis grow, both in college and long after. These initiatives put Pi Phi’s values into everyday practice, helping members gain confidence and skills they’ll carry into their careers and communities.

At Ignite and College Weekend, members discover their strengths and put them to work alongside sisters from other chapters. Leading with Values and Critical Conversations help Pi Phis learn to navigate real-life challenges, make informed decisions and support one another.

Each spring, eligible Giving Circle members vote of which areas of Leadership Fund programming their collective gifts will support.

How is my Giving Circle gift divided?

Every Giving Circle gift is split equally between the Friendship Fund and the Leadership Fund. Half supports the Foundation’s greatest needs through the Friendship Fund, while the other half supports leadership development through the Leadership Fund.

Eligible members vote each spring on which areas of Leadership Fund programming their collective gifts will support. The vote does not change how gifts are divided between the two funds.

Do I have to pay alumnae dues to join the Giving Circle?

You don’t need to pay alumnae dues to join the Young Alumnae Giving Circle or participate in quarterly virtual meetups. However, to be eligible for the annual vote, you must have contributed at least $120 during the fiscal year and paid your alumnae dues. Alumnae dues and Giving Circle gifts are separate contributions.

Do I have to give every month?

I already give to Pi Beta Phi Foundation. Does that count?

If you’ve already made a gift to the Friendship Fund during the current fiscal year, it can count toward the $120 annual giving amount to join the Young Alumnae Giving Circle. Gifts designated for a specific purpose, such as a chapter scholarship fund, do not count toward Giving Circle membership. We appreciate every gift to Pi Beta Phi Foundation and the generosity behind it. If you’re unsure whether a previous gift qualifies, please reach out to Pi Beta Phi Foundation.
