Pi Phi and NPC

Pi Phi and the National Panhellenic Conference

Pi Beta Phi is a founding member of the National Panhellenic Conference, the premier advocacy and support organization for the advancement of the sorority experience.

About NPC

The National Panhellenic Conference provides support and guidance for its 26-member inter/national sororities/women’s fraternities and serves as the national voice on contemporary issues of sorority life. Founded in 1902, NPC is one of the oldest and largest women’s membership organizations representing more than 4 million women at 655 college/university campuses and 4,500 local alumnae chapters in the U.S. and Canada. Each year, NPC-affiliated collegians and alumnae donate more than $5 million to worthy causes, provide $2.8 million in scholarships to women and volunteer 500,000 hours in their communities.

  • If you’re a Potential New Member getting ready for recruitment on your campus, visit Recruitment 101 for information on the recruitment process, from enrollment to Bid Day.
  • NPC organizations celebrate International Badge Day each March by wearing their badges to honor the sisterhood and history of the Panhellenic community. Join the celebration!
  • Pi Beta Phi and NPC are lobbying for support of the Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure Act (CHIA), which would allow tax-deductible donations to directly fund Pi Phi housing maintenance, improvements and new building projects. This focus has been enhanced to highlight other priorities, including preservation of single-sex status, freedom of association, due process standards and volunteer advisors' designation as campus security authorities. Visit Pi Phi’s Government Initiatives page to learn more about CHIA and the other legislative issues of interest to Greek organizations and members.
