GreekLifeEdu™ is an online prevention program tailored to the needs of college students who are members of Greek letter organizations. This interactive program focuses on alcohol consumption, hazing and sexual assault to help members make safer and healthier decisions.
There are two parts to GreekLifeEdu. Part One takes approximately two hours to complete and Part Two takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. One of Pi Beta Phi’s core values is Personal and Intellectual Growth, which includes member’s health and well-being. As part of this core value, the Fraternity requires all New Members to take GreekLifeEdu. It is a requirement for initiation. Part One must be completed by each New Member in order for them to be eligible for initiation. Part Two must be completed within one month of initiation.
We believe providing factual information on alcohol, hazing and sexual assault will help members identify and utilize resources and enable them to make informed lifestyle choices that contribute to a healthy self and community.
GreekLifeEdu presents non-opinionated, science-based content in an easily accessible, online format. Surveys, knowledge tests and interactive exercises create a highly engaging experience. The course features real-life student success stories that encourage participants to adopt positive behaviors and build self-efficacy. Additional “what would you do?” scenarios help them practice and reinforce these new behaviors.
GreekLifeEdu also includes:
- Personalized pathways and feedback for a customized user experience;
- Realistic simulations allow students to evaluate their decisions;
- Organization-specific resources, such as policies, procedures and key staff contacts; and
- Leadership and student engagement opportunities available in the community.
Did You Know?
- Seven out of 10 students involved in a team or social organization experience at least one hazing behavior.
- Alcohol consumption and sexual activities are common hazing practices across all types of student groups.

GreekLifeEdu is a specialized program targeting alcohol, hazing and sexual assault designed to better meet the needs of students joining Greek letter organizations.
Will there be information in GreekLifeEdu that is a repetition of AlcoholEdu for College?
There will be approximately 10-20 percent content overlap between GreekLifeEdu and AlcoholEdu, depending on the specific student pathway. This repetition has been created on purpose. For students who complete both AlcoholEdu and GreekLifeEdu, the repetition will serve to reinforce critical information from both courses.
If I completed AlcoholEdu for College for my college or university, do I need to complete GreekLifeEdu?
AlcoholEdu for College is designed to complement GreekLifeEdu. It ensures the colleges/universities and Greek organizations are in sync, rather than competing.
Will I be able to transfer my credit from AlcoholEdu for College to GreekLifeEdu?
There is no need to request a transfer of credit, because GreekLifeEdu is a different program from AlcoholEdu for College. The transfer credit feature was originally designed to assist with the logistics of providing the same program to both Greek organization headquarters and campuses. Credit transfers will not be necessary as GreekLifeEdu will only be available to Headquarters at this time.
Can our entire New Member class take the course together?
Each user will have a separate login account. You may certainly go to a computer lab with your New Member class and work on the course components.
