Des Moines, IA Alumnae Club

Pi Phi bonds don’t fade after graduation—they only grow stronger. Whether you’ve moved to a new city or are looking to reconnect with sisters in your area, alumnae clubs offer friendship and support no matter where life takes you.

Our Roots

The Des Moines, Iowa, Alumnae Club was organized and established in 1894 by Iowa Lambdas Anna Ross Clark and Lizzie Case-Howe and Iowa Gama Mary Broadhead-Wallace. It was chartered on December 1, 1912. It held monthly meetings at the home of one of its members and was mainly a social club, with some work for the Settlement School. The club issued and sold a neat seal—a diminutive Pi Beta Phi coat-of-arms for the benefit of the Settlement School.
