A message from the Leadership and Nominating Committee

Over the course of the fall and winter, members of Pi Beta Phi’s Leadership and Nominating Committee (LNC) worked collaboratively to hear feedback, thoughts and perspectives from our members, current volunteers and Headquarters staff in preparation for slating the Fraternity’s leadership for the 2025-2027 biennium. Each decision made for Fraternity leadership was done by reflecting on these conversations and written data while also keeping in mind the skill sets needed for each role, the current needs of the Fraternity and the importance of moving forward while remaining relevant in today’s changing global landscape. We always looked for the right person for the right role at the right time.

Through these conversations, we learned of volunteers who made the difficult decision to step away from their roles and others who were seeking a change in position. One volunteer shared her thoughts on stepping down from her position after two terms to support the Fraternity’s succession planning. We discussed how her skills could continue to benefit the Fraternity serving in other positions. Another leader voluntarily agreed to step away from serving the Fraternity in order to be considered for a leadership position in a different area needing her specific areas of expertise. A third leader experienced a shift in her personal schedule that no longer allowed her to continue to serve at the level needed for her role. She offered ideas for how she could continue to use her skills to serve the Fraternity. These volunteers exemplified servant leadership by placing the needs of the Fraternity above personal goals or ambitions. We also had a number of former volunteers express their interest in returning to Pi Phi leadership and received new candidate recommendation through our revised recommendation process. LNC is always grateful for volunteers willing to return after taking a break and values the opportunity to meet new candidates interested in leadership opportunities.

LNC is excited about this year’s slate. We believe those slated are the strongest candidates when considering their individual roles and responsibilities, as well as the ability to work on their respective leadership teams. We believe these leaders have the skills, experience and diversity in thought needed to continue the progress the Fraternity has made over the recent years into the next biennium, while also helping the Fraternity evolve and grow in relevancy for collegians and alumnae members alike. We hope you will join us in our confidence and excitement in the slate for the 2025-2027 biennium.

Pi Phi History

In 1867, 12 courageous young women at Monmouth College came together to form a sisterhood rooted in shared experiences, enduring values and Sincere Friendships. Today, more than 150 years and 350,000 members later, we continue to celebrate our founders' vision as sisters of Pi Beta Phi.
